Here’s an SEO podcast with a difference: Kate Toon labels each episode “newbie” or “techie,” making it easy to tailor your learning.

We also like the new “toon tip” episodes, which offer a condensed overview of topics like Core Web Vitals and Google updates in under 20 minutes.

Past guests include Rand Fishkin and Barry Schwartz—so you’re guaranteed to learn something new every time.

Looking for succinct SEO tips but short on time to trawl the web? Turn to Voices of Search.

This podcast focuses on SEO and content marketing, with near-daily episodes spanning 10–20 minutes. Given the low commitment required per sitting, it’s far easier to listen attentively as host Benjamin Shapiro tackles all the useful stuff, such as:

  • Optimizing how-to content.
  • Identifying the best content formats for your audience.
  • Mobile SEO changes.
  • How social media impacts SEO.

Website: The Search Engine Journal Show
Listen on: Spotify, Apple Podcasts

Formerly known as Marketing Nerds—and, later, Search Engine Nerds—this twice-monthly show has evolved since its launch in 2014 to become a go-to for SEO professionals. And for good reason too, given the caliber of guests who have graced the podcast. These include Google’s Gary Illyes, Bing’s Christi Olson, and Snap Inc., Canada’s Matt McGowen

In addition to roping in SEO experts to discuss trending topics, such as futureproofing your SEO practices, the hosts run occasional giveaways and contests.

We reckon this show is best suited to seasoned SEOs. The conversations can get a little technical, as in the case of this episode on enterprise site crawl management.

7. Crawling Mondays

Avg. episode time: 25 mins
Website: AleydaSolis.com

Apart from being the founder of digital marketing consultancy Orainti and remote work platform Remoters, Aleyda dedicates her time to making Crawling Mondays a podcast worth your while.

While episodes are infrequent, there’s plenty for you to dig into: SEO reviews, interviews, and related news. There are also how-to tips on building a winning SEO strategy, doing local SEO, and project management for agencies.

I particularly like the quality of guests who have come on the show, including Lisa Paasche, Areej AbuAli, and Marie Haynes. Here’s one featuring our very own Patrick Stox:

8. Search with Candour

Topics: Career development, mental health tips
Frequency: Weekly
Avg. episode time: 40 mins

This show isn’t about SEO—not really, anyway. Hosts Sarah McDowell and Tazmin Suleman combine their mindset coaching and SEO experience to explore tips on building confidence and optimizing your SEO career, although we reckon many of their insights can be applied across other roles and industries.

Occasionally, other experts weigh in—from scaling your SEO talent with Previsible’s Jordan Koene to stepping outside your comfort zone with B-Digital’s Rejoice Ojiaku.

Here’s one of my favorite episodes:

10. Adventures in Local Marketing

Host: Claire Carlile Rees
Topics: Local SEO

Avg. episode time: 50 mins
Website: Adventures in Local Marketing
Listen on: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts

What does it take to execute local SEO effectively and outrank your competition?

Let BrightLocal’s Claire Carlile Rees show you. After a yearlong hiatus, the podcast returned in June 2023 and has kept us listening with a keen ear. Marketers like Levi Williams-Clucas and Andi Jarvis have guest-starred to discuss:

There’s also a fun segment called Room 404, in which guests share their biggest marketing pet peeves.

11. The SaaS SEO Show

Host: George Chasiotis
Topics: SaaS SEO, content marketing
Frequency: Weekly
Avg. episode time: 45 mins
Website: The SaaS SEO show
Listen on: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube

This Ahrefs-sponsored podcast by marketing agency Minuttia features some of the top minds in the SaaS industry, and George Chasiotis knows just the right questions to ask.

Whether a discussion on technical SEO with UpWork’s Brian Shumway or a case study on HubSpot’s SEO strategy with Bianca Anderson, you’re bound to leave each episode feeling a little smarter.

12. The SEO Rant

Host: Mordy Oberstein
Topics: Technical SEO, general SEO
Frequency: Monthly
Avg. episode time: 28 mins
Website: The SEO Rant
Listen on: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Soundcloud

Mordy Oberstein isn’t just a well-known name in the space. He heads SEO branding at Wix and co-hosts other popular podcasts, including Edge of the Web with Erin Sparks.

The SEO Rant is his solo project in which leading search marketers share their unfiltered insights on being an LGBTQ+ ally in SEO, programmatic SEO for content generation, and more.

13. The SERP’s Up

Hosts: Mordy Oberstein, Crystal Carter
Topics: General SEO, technical SEO, career tips, digital marketing, keyword research
Frequency: Weekly
Avg. episode time: 45 mins
Website: The SERP’s Up by Wix
Listen on: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Amazon Music, Stitcher

Yep, it’s Mordy again! In this podcast by Wix, the seasoned host is joined by his colleague Crystal Carter (aka Wix’s communications head).

Together, they strike a fun and well-paced balance that’s easy for both entry-level and seasoned marketers to follow along.

I particularly like the breadth and depth of topics covered; think Google updates and international SEO to discussions on building a sound content strategy and using SEO for lead generation.

14. Rankable by iPullRank

Host: Garrett Sussman
Topics: SEO, technical SEO, content marketing
Frequency: Weekly
Avg. episode time: 35 mins
Website: Rankable by iPullRank
Listen on: Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, YouTube

For some light-hearted listening, this weekly podcast has it all: discussions on Google updates and AI, a macro look at the state of SEO, and more technical deep dives like working on JavaScript SEO bugs with Jamie Indigo.

iPullRank’s Garrett Sussman is an animated host. His casual conversations with guests, including Jeremy Moser and Lyndon Nelson-Allen, are never short of insightful.

15. The SEO Sprint

Host: Adam Gent
Topics: SEO, technical SEO, product marketing
Frequency: Monthly
Avg. episode time: 60 mins
Website: The SEO Sprint
Listen on: Apple

The SEO Sprint began as a newsletter (and if you haven’t subscribed to it, I highly recommend you do!) before Adam Gent launched the offshoot podcast. In each episode, he chats with SEOs who work in product and engineering teams at the likes of Searchmetrics, Indeed, and Zoopla.

While the podcast is scrappier in terms of production value—no opening credits or background music, for instance—the fledgling series already shows promise.

Final thoughts

It’s so rare in these times to find one man with so much wow factor and more rare to find men with similar interest and passion in their life journey as myself . Dan Elliott has been introduced to many in what is now considered as the Terror Dome , a place where many dreams are not deferred they are detoured to routes that lead to dead ends , he comes in full of optimism so infectious that he, maybe with out knowing is energizing those who have ventured where others would fear going with just the right jolt to forge on in the way of helping fallen humanity … His various fields of expertise has helped many in my region and I can only imagine the number he has effected beyond those I know … from day one I knew “ this was a man of kindred spirit “ Dan Elliott is a Gem and adds glimmer to things he touches … I’m a Witness ….and eternally grateful….L.Rashaan RichMay 21, 2022

We'd used some other agencies before, but man, they simply knocked us all over. After being in business for 30 years, I wonder how much more business we'd be doing if we'd hired them earlier.Rebecca HoneaMay 17, 2019
